My honest take on what I like, what I've learned & why I trust it.

I never used to take supplements
They just weren’t part of my world.

But when I went through an early menopause at 40 - in the middle of lockdown (😫) - and couldn’t take HRT for medical reasons, I realised I needed to support my body in other ways.

My symptoms weren’t subtle, far from it: mood swings where I'd fly from rage to deep sadness, hot flushes, brain fog so bad I found it hard to string sentences together, disrupted sleep (to put it mildly), low energy, and a constant sense that I was losing myself and everything I thought I knew about my body. And beyond the daily struggles, I was also thinking about the long-term health implications of this change: to my heart, bones, inflammation, focus, sanity.

So I started researching for what could help.
Obsessively. (As I tend to do.)
Where it got real
I wanted to understand exactly what vitamins and nutrients could help with what I was experiencing - natural alternatives to HRT that my body could tolerate. I wanted to learn what mattered most, what doses were most effective and which forms were most absorbable. I zeroed in on supplements like Magnesium, Vitamin D & E, Omega-3s, Anti-inflammatories, and Adaptogens.

And once I started taking them, I felt a difference. Not overnight, but steadily.
Clearer thinking.
Calmer mood.
Better sleep.
Happier.
And no more hot flushes (seriously!)
A bit more of me was coming back.

But there was a problem...

I wasn't fully sold
Many of the “best” supplements I was taking were expensive. And even though the packaging looked impressive and the reviews were there, I often couldn’t tell how they were made, where the ingredients were sourced, or whether I was actually getting the full benefit, even though things were starting to shift and I felt better.

I didn’t want cheap junk, but I also didn’t want to spend hundreds of pounds a month on supplements when I didn't entirely trust the products.

Cue the spreadsheets...
A friend and fellow menopause-er casually mentioned she’d started taking a Magnesium supplement from a company called LiveGood.

So naturally I asked all the questions, listened to her feedback…and I dove in.

I watched their videos, followed the founders, read the product labels, compared ingredients, reviewed their third-party testing companies, and yes - made spreadsheets comparing their products to the ones I was taking (because that’s how I roll!)

And what I found genuinely impressed me.

What I needed most in a supplement company?
Transparency. Quality. Trust. And price.
I could see exactly what was in each product, in what amounts, and why it was there.
No "proprietary blends".
No vague marketing fluff.
Just clear, honest information.

Every product is third-party tested for purity and potency. The ingredients are clean, often organic, and always purposeful. Nothing unnecessary.

And price wise? For a low monthly membership fee ($9.95), I get access to better quality products than I was buying before - but at a fraction of the cost (how do they do this I hear you ask?! It's all down to the subscription/membership model - think Costco with it's wholesale member prices, but for the wellness industry).

And the team behind LiveGood? Educated, passionate, and genuinely invested in creating supplements that help - not hype. I trust their process, their testing, and their ethics.

Why I'm sharing this
I’m not here to preach about LiveGood, sell to you like a boss-babe influencer (haha, like I could ever pull that off!) or pressure anyone to buy anything they don't want or need.

But I know how overwhelming it can be to not feel like yourself anymore.
To try things that don’t work.
To waste money on half-hearted products with shiny branding but minimal benefit.

That’s why I share LiveGood. Because it’s one of the few things that’s made a clear, consistent difference in how I feel - and it’s made wellness feel accessible, not exclusive.

So, if you’re curious about it all, here’s where you can take a look:
